CHRISTMAS DECOR 2017
Putting up christmas decorations is one of my favourite things to do. I try my best to push it off as far into November as possible but I usually only make to the 12th. I feel as though the sooner I get them up, the more accepting I am taking them down in the beginning of January.
I decorate as many rooms in my home as possible even if that means a mini lightless tree in my son's nursery. In total we put up 5 trees (only 2 were large sizes) I love including the kids in the process and they love having the trees in their rooms as night lights.
My living room gets the winter wonderland effect, with lit martini trees and snow wherever I can put it. I do most of my shopping at Homesense, Micheal's and Chapters. I feel like every year no matter how much I have, I always add more, and it goes unnoticed until its time to pack it all up.
I leave my family room as my "family" christmas room. It's where all of my memory ornaments go, that time we were in New York and bought that ornament on 5th, or that snowman my son made in preschool. As important as all my ornaments are, my favourite ornaments are those of my kids 3D handprints. I got them made from a company called Wee Piggies, when they were all about a week old. They have a a beautiful little saying on the back: "This is the hand you used to hold when I was __ days old". They melt my heart every time I put them up.
Although I love spending time in both rooms, the tree with all the memories is where I sit all day thinking of how each one made it on there, I think thats the best part of my christmas decorating!
