LE DINER EN BLANC VANCOUVER
How fun would it be to attend a glamorous pop up event in your city? A mystery location where one minute you’re in a regular park and the next it’s covered with beautifully dressed people, sipping on wine, socializing, and dancing the night away under the stars. Well that's just a small glimpse inside the Diner en Blanc event.
Attending this event has been on our bucket list for the last couple of years but due to conflicting engagements this was the first year we were able to attend.
Going into this event I didn’t exactly know what to expect or how to prepare so I thought sharing my insight would be helpful to anyone thinking of attending this event in the future.
I have to start off by saying if you have the opportunity to attend one of these events you definitely should!
There’s a few things that I learned through this experience that I thought I could share to simplify this process.
Firstly, after receiving your invite and purchasing tickets you should note that any alcohol has to be purchased through the website. Food can also be purchased if you choose to however you can also bring your own goodies. We chose to bring an assortment of small sandwiches, sushi and desserts.
Secondly, when thinking about your table setting, think convenience and design. You don’t want to choose heavy items since there is quite a bit of walking involved. Also find items that are compact and don’t require too much set up.
I have listed some of my favorite items that I wouldn’t have been able to do without.
Folding chairs from - IKEA
Lightweight roll up table - Canadian Tire
4 tier acrylic food stand - Amazon
Wine chilling bag - Bevefresco
Canvas carrying tote - SB Design Studio
Battery operated tea lights - Amazon
White tablecloth - Amazon
Pearl hair accessories - Amazon
Midi tulle skirt - Little White House (similar Boohoo)
Wine glasses - Amazon
Lastly, you don’t find out the location until the day of the event, so if you’re a planner like myself that can seem a little daunting. My suggestion is plan your table and your outfit and just let the rest of the night happen.
There were over 4000 people at this event and it went off without a hitch. Diner en Blanc Vancouver is thought out and planned so seamlessly that you just want to really appreciate and enjoy every moment.
Final Tips:
-Pack a tide pen (you’re dressed in all white)
-Pack fabric napkins (for the traditional napkin wave)
-Choose shoes wisely (you could be on the grass)
-Pack sparklers (they’re sometimes provided by the table organizer)
-Food and wine sales cannot be made on site, bring enough food
It was such a magical night, and we can’t wait to do it again next year ✨
