Ivy Restaurant Themed Birthday Party

This has been a trying year for all to say the least. Many have had events cancelled or postponed, leaving uncertainty with no real timeline of when we may start to see things return to normal.

For me, my annual girlfriends trip to LA was cancelled, and although it’s definitely not the worst thing to happen, I decided to throw a themed birthday based on one of my favorite LA hotspots, The Ivy Restaurant.

It’s a gorgeous boutique style Italian eatery that has a quaint garden theme and is completely covered in bright vibrant roses.

I had an amazing time planning this birthday, not only for myself but for my guests as many have not had the opportunity to celebrate birthdays and milestones this year. I wanted it to be a fun escape from the norm and a nice afternoon with some wonderful ladies.

Thankfully, I had a wide array of special vendors that went above and beyond to help me make this event what it was! I’ve listed them all below to share how each one helped to make this such a beautiful event.

PHOTOGRAPHY - Brooklyn D Photography

These gorgeous photos speak for themselves but I have to say Brooklyn was absolutely amazing! I could not have been happier with how all the photos came out! This sort of talent is not something you see all the time, and I cannot wait for my family shoot with her!

THE BAR - Corky’s Liquor Bin & Wine Loft

Corky’s came through with all of our cocktail needs, everything from champagne to spritzers. They delivered excellent service and amazing prices. Located in Chilliwack, BC, they are a friendly family run operation and I’m a huge advocate of supporting our local suppliers!

CAKE- Crown City Cakes

Crown City Cakes completely outdid themselves with this showstopper! The details were perfect🍊

Not only was this cake perfectly hand painted but the flavors for each tier were absolutely delicious.

1. Triple chocolate - Decadent chocolate cake layered with bitter dark chocolate frosting, cocoa nibs, and a Salted Caramelized white chocolate truffle.

2. Toasted Rosemary and Blackberry - Frangipane cake layered with a blackberry cream cheese mousse, toasted rosemary Swiss meringue buttercream, and studded with whole blackberries.

Along with this beautiful 2 tier cake, they made an equally beautiful covid friendly mini cake that allowed me to actually blow out a candle and make a wish! It was all perfect!

CANOPY - Natural Oasis Events

This wooden installment was the perfect addition to the event. The setup was done so quickly and created a whimsical ambience to an otherwise simple backyard. Natural Oasis Events setup and took down this gorgeous canopy with no hassle, it is the perfect touch for any event!

BALL PIT - Inflations en Blanc

This had to be the best photo op ever!! I absolutely love their beautiful aesthetic of all white everything and the inner child in me definitely came out while entering this ball pit. This along with their all white bounce house would make any event a hit! Check out some photos below…

SIGNAGE - Etsy and Staples

These signs were a fun project! I found and bought a few downloadable designs through Black Bow Studio on Etsy. In addition to the signs, I got these fun boarding passes printed. They were personalized with individual names which made a great memory for all the guests and doubled as a name plate for each seating. Everything was printed at Staples.ca and then picked up in-store.

DECOR - Andazz Wedding Center

There’s no way to throw a beautiful event without an amazing decor and rental company, and Andaaz Wedding Center was perfect. They brought in tables, linens, garden chairs and a gorgeous greenery wall as a photo op backdrop. This definitely brought the whole look together, it’s always in the details.

FOOD- Charcuterie Whiterock

An amazing alternative to the traditional graze board are individual charcuterie plates and veggie/fruit cups. Charcuterie Whiterock did an amazing job helping keep our guests safe and well fed with these perfect little appies! Thank you for everything, it was delicious.

BALLOON INSTALLATION - Smith and Co Events

This balloon garland trend has always intrigued me and I was so lucky to meet Carly from Smith and Co Events. She created a beautiful backdrop, installed it on location and really helped tie in all the vibrant colors. Another huge thank you to Luxe Finishing for creating a gorgeous “At the Ivy” sign.

COOKIES - The Ivy Restaurant

This was the best surprise! My sister actually arranged to have cookies shipped all the way from the Ivy Restaurant in LA and this was by no means an easy feat since they don’t actually ship to Canada yet. I mentioned to her weeks prior to the event that, when leaving the restaurant you receive a small bag of chocolate chip cookies and it might be a cute idea to do the same. I had NO idea she would actually order the real deal!! She’s the best and thank you to the Ivy for accommodating this order.

PARTY FAVORS - Santa Barbara Designs Studio

What’s a party without a cute little take away? I have always loved all the designs from SB Design studio and these “Brunch Club” totes did not disappoint. Along with these they sent over these perfect “I’ll be ready in a Prosecco” serviettes, which were so fitting and went perfect with the champagne and mimosas that were served.

FLOWERS

These flower arrangements were definitely a labor of love, not only were they stunning but the whole theme was based off of these iconic rose bouquets. I found the vintage pitchers from Ikea and purchased 200 assorted roses (orange, yellow and hot pink) to complete this look.
